Background
From Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, Mikey Rodgers brings to South Carolina nearly 10 years of socio-political research experience. Growing up in a range of environments, including Oklahoma, rural Appalachia, and New Jersey, Rodgers has cultivated a life-long interest in the ways divergent subcultures interact with one another to both 1) reinforce cultural identities and 2) inform individuals’ meaning-making processes.
Mikey maintains a quiet life in Southwest Virginia with his wife, Hailey, a large-animal veterinarian. Upon graduating, he plans to pursue a university research position in addition to establishing a political consulting firm focused on promoting progress across the rural South.
Research Interests
