Eligibility
To be considered, you must meet these minimum requirements:
- Be an undergraduate student at the University of South Carolina – Columbia
- Have completed one semester at the University of South Carolina - Columbia by your start date
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must be in good academic standing
- Have a desire to help your fellow students
Job Responsibilities
- Lead 1-on-1 appointments (Success Consultations) with students to promote positive academic behaviors
- Conduct outreach to specific populations of students and answer office hotline via Student Success Call Center
- Assist with office operations by checking students in for appointments and answering student inquiries via phone, e-mail, and/or LiveChat
- Maintain confidential student records
- Attend and participate in all required trainings & biweekly staff meetings, including the SSC Peer Leader training cohort during the first semester of employment
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Peer Consultants or the Graduate Assistant of Peer Consultants
Breakdown of Hours
- Work a minimum of 8 hours per week
- 3 - 6 hours: Success Consultations
- 3 - 6 hours: Combination of call center and front desk
- 1 hour: cohort (first time peer leaders only)
- 1 hour: biweekly staff meeting
